Simple ingredients create a rich and flavorful sauce:
  • Chicken breast: 600 g, raw and skinless
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Onion: 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Mushrooms: 250 g, sliced
  • Chicken stock: Made with 1/2 stock cube and 150 ml water
  • Cream: 100 ml
  • Dijon mustard: 1 tablespoon
  • Butter: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: 0.3 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1 teaspoon, ground

How to make it

The creamy sauce comes together quickly in one pan:
  1. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken until golden brown and fully cooked.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the olive oil to the same skillet.
  5. Sauté the onion until soft and translucent.
  6. Add the butter and mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms soften and release their moisture.
  7. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Pour in the chicken stock and add the Dijon mustard to deglaze the pan.
  9. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  10. Add the cream and return the chicken to the skillet.
  11. Simmer gently until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  12. Serve warm with your preferred side dish.
